Judges

I finished reading the Judges book last night. I have slowed a bit on my Bible reading. Now that we only have about 3 acres of tobacco left, I should be on a more reasonable pace soon. Anyways, Judges was about all the leaders that Israel had or did have. I never realized that once Moses moved on, the Israelite community didn't have a stable leadership. Some Israelites were quick to forgot God and move on to this baal character. What was so appealing about this idol that they converted so readily? The amount of turmoil in this time was also outstanding. I kept reading about war after war and I was never really sure what they were fighting about. Some more of Samson's story was pretty cool. I was a bit clueless on most of his story until I read his section. I also have to wonder about the oldest profession as presented in the Bible. These people seem to sleep with prostitutes very easily. Many characters also seemed to have multiple wives. God must have tightened up his companionship standards sometime in the New Testament.

I also have gotten myself a new winter jacket. I can semi-retire the abecrombie jacket now. I have had my abercrombie jacket for almost 7 years now. It kept me nice and warm, but was starting to show some stains and wear that was not washing out. I found a nice columbia jacket at town and country there in hillsboro. They had marked my jacket down by 50 dollars and I was not able to walk on by. I also bought me a new pair of 527 levi jeans and some new work boots. Bobby Hill really doesn't know money, he told me they had the boots I wanted there for 130 dollars and they were marked 150. I still bought them, I have higher standards than walking around in a boot that has a big blowout in the toe.
