One of my mexicans got himself a nickname today. I wanted to call him mandame which is what he says everytime we say his name to get some help. Mandame means "order me" in spanish. I was also considering desmayoda, which means fainted, but he thought mandame sounded better. He fainted the other day when he seen a finger that was bleeding because it had been speared by a tobacco spear. Cutting tobacco can be dangerous work, but most of the time its is safe. I have never been speared by a spear, but I was to slow a cutter to get hurt like that.
Hurrrah to me for getting my 100th blog post. Most seem to have some content or backbone to them, but how many revelations can a person have?
First day a phs was okay, but as expected the plans are pretty dull. The only grades she expects me to take are vocalbulary copying grades, note taking grades, and a note book check grade. Repeat that for every chapter until late october. She did have a 7lb, 10 oz, 20 inch (long or around?) baby boy named matthew boone minton. I do get to hand around with the vice principal during lunch duty, so that may lead to a good job recommendation someday.
Bobby Hill seems pretty excited about the highland county fair for some reason also. He must be planning on getting drunk and getting sloopy seconds again somehow, or he is listening to forsythe talk up his calf to much.
In what could only be describe as an implosion of awesomeness, Howard Stern wants to get the kings of leon on his show. That should be great, and I am going to have to record it.

baba booey
I am a howard stern fan. I have been listening to him ever since 2001, when his radio show came on in cincinnati for the first time. I followed him to sirius satellite radio when he left terrestrial radio. Some people may scoff at his show from things they have seen on his old tv show. I don't think people would hate him as much if they ever listened to his whole show. Sure, he has some adult content, and women come on the show to do some irregular things. The women are usually there to promote something, and the deal is to get your advertisement, you have to do something, generally which is provacitive. Overall though, the show is very entertaining. It's really just a group of friends sitting around talking to each other and being honest. I have laughed the hardest I possibly could at some of the things that I've heard on that show. The guy is a genius for doing his own thing and is part of the reason so many stations now play free fm. Without him pulling in listeners, advertisers pulled out and the stations couldn't afford their disk jockeys. I am a fan, and will try to convince anyone else they should be also. Someone who has never listened to his whole show should not be able to complain about his crassness.

Cumberland
This weekend I went to lake cumberland with my sister, her husband, and another friend. My brother in laws father has a house and a boat down that way. Being a yes man, I said YES, I will go with you guys and pal around. I figured I might as well go since it was going to be raining here saturday. We got in late friday, played some cards and went to bed. Saturday we did some boating and swimming. The in laws had a fun tube to pull behind the boat, and it was fun falling off. Some of the money that people put in the houseboats is unbelievable. I couldn't hardly believe that a house boat with two stories, a bar, a water slide and a bunch of other fancy stuff only cost 150,000, but that was the number guesstimated by officer Dan. The father with the house and boat down there is a retired cop. He lives in some area where other retired cops live and is also apparently the dockmaster. My brother in law acts like he doesn't get along with him or his mother in law, but he did seem pretty content with them compared to the last time I was there. The last time I was there was after my sister got engaged, when we stopped in on the way back from oneida tennessee to celebrate. We did stop and look at a house that is going to be auctioned near the lake. It would be cool to have a place to go to get away like that, but money is hard to come by unemployed folk like me.
I also managed to avoid jury duty for this week. I did get some paperwork to be on federal jury duty for the month of september. I'm not sure why I never blogged about that yet.
My PHS teacher called and is having her baby sometime soon, so I will making the drive to peebles high school for the next two months or so. That should be fun, but her entire curricula that she left me seems kind of simple. Sure, I don't know the student body at that school, and she has 90% freshman and sophomores, but most everything is straight from the book. It may be hard for me to teach and assign dull book assignments. I just have to remember that as a sub, it is not my job to decide what the kids learn, I have to do what the missing teacher asks of me.

Leviticus
Well, I finished another book of the Bible last night. Leviticus might as well have been called "Rules." One of the things I have noticed so far in my reading is that most of the scriptures apply to men. The word she is not used very often. Women do come up as topics every so often, but most of the time he is used to demonstrate a person. I also decided that nothing got done besides burning animals up to make sacrifices. Everything that was herded together must have been pretty nervous every time a person came by. The only was to be safe from becoming a sacrifice was to have a deformity, God didn't want your reject livestock. I also have to wonder about all the ideals set forth in Leviticus. I can't help but notice that many animals aren't burned at alters in todays christianity. We also eat a wide variety of animals, split hoof, cud chewing or not.

WHODEY
Well tonight I went to the bengals game with my grandpa. I sat with him and my great uncle. The bengals predictably lost, but I thought I would write out my history with professional football. It was easy to follow the bengals as a kid, they were a local team that all the adults around me would talk about. While they only had one winning season in recent history, games and the team were a fun distraction on here in appalachia. We have had access to season tickets at least since they built the new stadium. The seats we have are in the east end zone, section 152. We have four seats there, but my grandpa owns two seats to half of the home games. Maybe this makes more sense. Farmer Rich, doc mckinley, pharmacist ferguson, and park ranger bloom are all in on the season tickets. We split up the tickets so that there are 2 tickets to every home game. I make a point to always say yes to going to the games nowadays. If I say yes, I may be asked if I want the tickets when there is bad weather or someone cannot make it. I have gone to games before when I had all four tickets, or got to give away all four tickets. Generally the bengals games are awful. I did get to see the highest scoring game in bengals history, when the beat the browns and both teams scored in the 50+ point range. I went to a game and stood on a foot of snow wearing bib overalls and a heavy jacket. I was there when corey dillon threw his pads in the stands. I don't remember going to the old stadium, but grandpa says we did have tickets. I never have gone and did any tailgating. It is hard for me to round up enough people to go that can be anywhere early. We do have a parking pass for a close lot, but park ranger bloom usually gets it. This means that my grandpa is willing to park more than a mile away and walk the rest of the way.
I have also reached a new level of lameness. I ordered grilled cheese to eat at frisch's tonight. Our waiter had a speech impediment and didn't want to stop talking to us after I told him my sister had just started working at the eastgate frisch's. I usually get fish and chips, but was not in a real great mood to eat. My grandpa likes going to eat after the games, but I had already eaten a bag of peanuts and drank a mountain dew at the game. I am also thinking about taking a sabbatical from F'booking. Between all of my friends activity and my old students adding me, it is just depressing currently Hopefully Mrs. Minton will have her baby soon so I will have something subbing/teaching to occupy my mind.

trabajando en el campo
Well the crop harvesting season is underway. We have a couple of acres cut down, and will finish one of the barns tomorrow. My grandpa has apparently interpreted the h2-a rules so that he has to be grumpy most of the time. I have also come to the conclusion that he never takes a moment to relax at all during the day. He always has a fresh thought, or chore, or task that he wants to talk about. He can usually rattle on about that task for quite some time. We can be as busy as possible, but he will think of something else that we should be doing that usually cannot wait. I am learning some more spanish, and trying to teach dad and grandpa more spanish also.
I also watched Kevin Smith's latest but not greatest movie, Zack and Miri make a porno. The movie had some high points, but the class reunion was what I wanted to blog about. As a 2001 graduate, my 10 year reunion is fast approaching. I really have nothing to look forward to at this point for that event. Maybe that will change in 2 years, but it's hard to say. I live in the area still and worked at the building with all our old teachers for a year. I may be a bit of a lamer to people who got out and achieved something. Sure some of them may be surprised that soft spoken me went to big scary Ohio State, but all that got me was back home doing a job that a college degree is not necessary for. Maybe I could try getting loaded, but that won't make a good impression on many people. I was not really good friends with many of them, and plenty of people will be curious about how I worked there for a year and am now not. Hopefully I will be gainfully employed by that time. I don't have a friend like Miri who gets me at all. I did have a group of friends that I talked with at school, but was not really committed to any cohort. The people on the basketball team tolerated me, my buddy's from ag class only had ag class with me, the people I had cp classes with had their own little agendas to busy themselves with. I did graduate 9/89, but was only a 91 average I think.

Onanism
I first came upon this word in an online dating profile of a woman. Intrigued as to what this was, I looked it up and found a meaning. Then I came across his person and actions in the Bible and had further proof as to what was going on.
At any rate, when I was in a sexual relationship, I used protection, especially after she took herself off of the pill. Pull and pray didn't have to happen a whole lot. The other meaning of onanism is more of what I wanted to talk about. Since getting my biblical proof of Gods dissatisfaction with Onan, I have made an effort to self satisfy less often. I knew that I shouldn't of been doing that action, but didn't have a good reason not to. Now that I have found biblical evidence, going back to zero is going to have to happen. Every so often I have seen some news report about this subject saying it is not medically unreasonable to do. It it is more of a personal decision than that.
I also work often on sundays, at my father and grandfathers discretion, which is also not entirely with Gods rulings. I'm not sure what else I will read in the Bible that I will have to change about myself. God made his rules to last for all time, and He likely knew what todays society would be like and still expected a following of His way.
In other news, I now have a nice bookcase my mom gave me from her classroom. I filled up one of the shelves right away and it has cubby holes for other things to be kept. I had been keeping my books in my office room, but was running out of shelf room in there. I also have some shelf space in an old doorway, but that's home to dvd's and nintendo games now. I hadn't realized how many different books I bought in the past year and read when I was subbing. I also found two typos in my last post. The typos would bring my grade down if I was getting graded on my small "essays" that I jokingly refer to my blog post as.
exodus
I finished reading Exodus last night. The story about how Moses got the Israelites out of Egypt was pretty cool. I have never seen the entire "Ten Commanments" movie, so this filled in some blanks. I thought that parts of the book were repetitive, I had to wonder if I was rereading parts and flip back every so often. The design that God gave Moses seemed very thorough, it must have been spectacular to see. The Pharoah at the time seemed very stubborn, but God was hardening his heart and he did have a very large slave labor force under him.
In other news, columbus was a bit of fun saturday night. I got to meet up with some old friends and hang out for a while. My buddy that works for NASA was there with his girlfriend, and she seems interested in setting me up with a friend of hers. It seems like I now have a reason to make it to the pumpkin festival again this year. Dr. Weber was there and out of control as usual. He brought a buddy along that says Dr. Weber may be in the top percentile of their class, but I hardly believe that. Dr. Weber is also saying that he is going to stay at my house this hunting season until he gets his first deer and turkey. His dry spell is going to end. He will be in an anesthesiology rotation soon and that gives him some free time. His buddy, who shares the name of an annoying telemarketer in the 40 year old virigin, was a bit odd in my opinion. He told us later that night that he has a 5 year old son in Houston, but was on the prowl for women still. That seems like a bit of a mixed priority to me, but he is also in med school and will be much more financially secure than me when he gets in texas to help take care of his son.

very busy people
The limousines have a pretty cool song out now called "very busy people." The song is about how they are very idle and bore themselves with all the idle activity of youth. I spend too much time with idle activity. I should be able to busy myself with grad school work, but I don't. Now that I have a treadmill I can run when I have nothing needing done. I should be plenty busy here now until november, putting in all the crops and hopefully subbing at least 2/3 days. If I get 120 days as a sub, it counts as a full year in the retirement system.
I sometimes wonder how busy my friends from college are. I try to get out and spend some time with them when invited or in town. It's good to catch up with them and find out what how they are besides what they put on facebook. I am not a very interesting person to be around, so I'm not always on the top of everyones hang out with list. I usually don't have a lot to say, and spending time in dark bars with loud music is not very encouraging for conversation. I have one friend who I have called three or four times this summer to try and get down here to watch a reds game, but he has a pretty full schedule apparently.

Genesis
I finished reading the first book of the Bible last night, Genesis. I have also found a new theme to go with. Every time I finish a part of the Bible, I will post some thoughts here.
The worst part about the first book was all the names and lineage to read. Reading generation after generation of who had who was a bit dull. I did like reading all the stories and events that happened in Genesis, I just had a hard time keeping up with all the names of everyone. I read about one character in Genesis that I was hoping to find eventually. A post about him will come later. I thought it kind of weird how everyone referred to God as "my God." There must have been plenty of dispute about what God and religion was back then. That must have something to do with the commandment about not worshipping any false idols. I also found all the parts about land and places a bit confusing. Some of the customs and sayings in the book were a bit hard to keep up with, but the whole book will likely be that way so I better get on board.
Overall, I thought Genesis was pretty good and look forward to reading Exodus.
I'm watching some cheesy movie from the 80's on tv now, it's pretty funny. Its about a canadian mountie who investigates deaths at a cheerleader camp. The best joke so far was a mother telling her son not to touch himself because he will go blind. Then his father came out the door with a seeing eye dog and sunglasses on. He was a pencil salesman. The son bought a pencil then opened his suitcase to put the pencil away. A whole lot of pencils fell out of his suitcase. The move also has the actor who played pee wee herman in it, and he is pretty darn funny in it.

reality competitions.
Some reality competition shows are extremely popular. I have never devoted to much time to watching them for reasons I have recently been able to verbalize. American Idol may be the most prevalent example of my reason. I don't quite like how someone can win a tv contest and be considered a star. They diminish the accomplishments of other artists. Any idiot can go on tv and hope for the best. The musicians of the past had to stick their neck out and get on stage until their act was good enough for them to be popular. It had to have been hard work to get a group together and practice, only to get on stage and not make very much money. Making the effort to say, this is what I am going to do, and screw anybody who doesn't support me is a very huge risk. Being willing to go on tv and get laughed at is a fickle thing. A real artist commits to doing their craft until they sink or swim. I think the audience you are trying to entertain should be in the same building. Having a fan base who can vote with their phone doesn't seem right to me. Sure, some good singers have come out of american idol, but how many of them would have been willing to try putting themselves on the line if there was no such show? Would they have gotten up on stage if they knew they might not "win" a contract? Were they singing for audiences without the appeal of immediate national fame?
This may not apply to some reality shows. The dancing shows have people with real skills who were doing what they love anyways. Promoting their industry by taking an untrained partner is not a huge risk on their end.
I also don't get the appeal of people who watch so they can hear the judges potentially mean comments. Is that all it really takes to entertain you? People saying mean things to someone else?
I have never watched many such shows for the above reasons. With the right motivation I may be able to watch, but currently don't.

Surprise!
Today we got a surprise visit from a the federal government. The department of wages and labor stopped in to see how we were complying with the h2a program rules. It turns out, we had the BEST operation they have seen in their careers. My grandma keeps excellent records of what and how we have paid our amigos. We also had minor infractions about their housing, but got them fixed by the end of the day. Hooray us. There was one other time we have received surprise regulation. A fellow stopped in our greenhouse one spring day in 2007 to see if we were illegally propagating plants and violating patents. We weren't and the guy said my grandma does have to be careful about how she does some things.
I went to college and took horticulture classes because I enjoyed working in a greenhouse and knowing about plants. I would likely be able to take over the greenhouse and its finances, but running a business just does not interest me. I like having a boss that gives me daily goals. Being in charge of myself is not my best personality. The greenhouse makes over 15 grand each season in profit, but I am just not to sure about it. That would be a nice chunk of change, but it mainly works because of the women in our family. My grandma puts almost too many hours in, my mom spends a couple of hours a day in the front once we are open, and my aunt comes as often as she can also. Once the ground get dry enough, Dad, Grandpa and me are out running tractors getting the crops ready.
In other news, there must be some warning about treadmills I have not heeded. I went out and bought a treadmill today. When I plugged it in, the lights flickered in the room, then went out. I must have destroyed some of the wiring, because now the lights don't work in that room, upstairs, the basement, or the socket that I plugged the treadmill in. I will have to give my uncle a call to see what advice he has now.

exotic chicks.
If you want to read about the exotic chicks, go to the last paragraph of this post.
When I had full time work, I would wake up and 5 am getting ready for my day. Most days I would be in my classroom by 6:15 preparing for everything. Being self employed does not give me a routine to get into, especially when any day of the week dad and grandpa could work me until dark.
I am also getting a new stock of chickens. We got 25 exotic chickens a couple of weeks ago, and they are now big enough to stay in the hen house I inherited at my house. The old hens that got moved in last january are moving back to the hen house by the amigos single wide. I had exotics last year until about the middle of december when a weasel got inside, went crazy and killed all my chickens and left. It was kind of weird to open up the door to let them out to have a dead chicken fall out the door, but I had to get to school to sub that day regardless.

exchange program part 2
My parents now have two new exchange students in their house. For some reason they decided to get two girls this year.
Ebru is a 16 year old girl from germany. Her parents are from Turkey, they sometimes fly there to visit the farm her family has. The rest of the time her mom and dad work in Germany. Ebru is a bit soft-spoken, but being in a new country can sometimes be a bit nerve-wracking.
Makalya is a 16 year old girl from slovakia. I think it is slovakia, I need to ask again. I don't know to much else about her. She is a bit more extroverted than Ebru at this point.
In other news I criticized my grandpa in a way I shouldn't have today. He was giving me some shit for treating the mexicans to dinner. I told him he must not be much of a christian if he is such a hard-ass about doing something nice for other people every once in a while. That was not a very fair statement, but christians are supposed to have compassion, be it for a neighbor or a visitor from a foreign country.
21
Today my youngest brother turns 21 years old. I can still remember when he was 18 and I was talking to him and his pals about physics in high school. While Roger has done some things differently while in college, other things are not real appreciable about him. He has made the GPA award list almost every quarter his first two years. He has also been throwing down beers since he was about 16. He joined a social fraternity and has way more friends than I did. He weight more than 190 when he turned 21. I was still under 190 until spring of 2004. He has a more liberal view of women than I do. He also needs two cars and barely drives one of them. My mom says he has way more Hauke in him than I do, which can mainly be seen from his langauge. While there are some appreciable differences, he is still my brother and is a great guy. I just have to figure out how to avoid going to columbus and drinking with him too much. This weekend I may go up and help celebrate his birthday milestone. He also wants me to go to the illinois game sometime in september. I would prefer to only go to the wisconsin game this year, but time will tell how desperate I get for some social company. The problem is last spring I got tired of going up to columbus, drinking to much and sleeping on the couch in his dorm room. My friends that I used to hang out with there are not terribly keen on drinking with me anymore. Those two things together got me to thinking that I should just quit drinking to the extreme that I was. I really am not looking forward to going up there and hanging out in a frat house with his cohort and drinking myself dumb. Staying at home is not terribly entertaining, but it beats a sleep the next day away hangover. I need to figure out a way to meet people, have some socialization outside my family, not bore them to death, and not drink very much. Church looks like my best option so far. Subbing is pretty cool for meeting people, but subs kind of get a cold shoulders from staff. They all have their own lives and are busy with their jobs and professionalism, so I just have to let it be. Teachers are a pretty eclectic group so they are generally fun to talk to.
I have read most of genesis in the bible so far. The names and ancestry I am getting are a bit confusing, but I have found what I've read so far very good.

23 minutes in hell.
Last night I started reading a book called "23 minutes in Hell." I read the first four chapters and thought I would have nightmares in my sleep. I managed to sleep pretty well, or don't remember having any nightmares. The book is very insightful about what is in store for us after or mortal body gives. His description of hell is very terrifying, and shows what would happen to those who don't have faith in Jesus. The message God gives him is very real and needs more thought by all of us. While I think that I have to improve my faith much more than what it is now, I am not quite so sure about some things. I believe in God and everything associated with faith. I am not so sure that God wants me to spend my life in fear of Him or the afterlife. He has given us the freedom to make the choices we want. He wants us to be reverent, yet able to make our own decisions. I should be able to finish the book tonight and then get to reading my large font Bible. I have been skipping most of the verses in 23 minutes, and going back to them after getting the Bible read all the way through for the first time.
My house is in a bit of a annoying spot. Cars have to slow down to make the curve by my driveway and I have a hard time deciding when someone is coming in to see me. I am worried that the longer I stay here the more likely I am to see a bad car accident. The curve is blind for cars coming either way so it is a bit of a concern.
My initial foray into pancake making has been a success. I made some chocolate chip pancakes and they turned out pretty well. Now I just need to try blueberry pancakes, fluffy pancakes, and crispy pancakes.

Pancho Loco
Tonight I did one of my favorite things to do with my crew of mexicans. We went to la Cascada in hillsboro and I treated. I don't mind treating since it gives the amigos a bit of a morale boost. It would have to be pretty tough leaving all your family and friends for several months so you can work hard to make what amounts to not a whole lot of money. Pancho Loco is the owner/manager of the place, and likes seeing us come in. It may be as simple as his restaurant doing business, or he likes seeing some native mexicans come in to his restaurant. He likes what I do for my crew, a good boss treats his workers everyonce in a while. He told us he was born in the states when his parents immigrated. He managed to work his way up and got his restaurant in industrious hillsboro. Pancho Loco also managed to do plenty of weightlifting, he is pretty muscular and into himself. He also gave some advice to me, I need to make more of an effort to open my mouth wider when speaking so my spanish could
In other news, walking around and doing some shopping at walmart is kind of fun. Its funny to see all the bored high schoolers idling around killing time. Its funny to see the kids who have to be seen with their parents look disinterested. It funny to hear redneck/hillbilly vernacular when walking through the aisles. Its funny to see how people let themselves go so bad that a motorized cart thing is their best option. I am not laughing at the elderly, just the obese and or lazy people. I also have to wonder about all the women walking around with kids. Is the father working? Is she raising the kid on her own? How much longer till the kid loses it and causes a scene while shopping? I also wonder about all the young people working at walmart. Is that there career aspiration? Is this a summer job between college? Did they decide working at a walmart wouldn't be especially hard? It's also kind of weird to get into a far corner at walmart and not hear the usual commotion. I did manage to convince myself to buy a couple of things. I bought a skillet so I could move on to the world of pancakes. Cooking eggs has reached a bit of a plateau so I am moving on the the world of pancakes. I bought some bigger tupperware so I can keep my extra hamburger in my refrigerator better than the tiny tupperware I use now. I bought a copy of wii sports resort. I just cannot keep myself from buying videogames that I know I should play, but won't have the time to. I bought a bible with larger print so I don't give myself a headache trying to read a 3 font. I also bought a copy of 23 minutes in hell, which I think will be an interesting read.

Aggravation
My dad has gotten really aggravated with me lately. The main problem is that I think we need to be thinking about easier ways to do things on the farm. He thinks we should keep doing things the hard way so that we get enough exercise. If things were easier, we could finish our day at a reasonable time and do the exercise we wanted. Part of the problem is that a neighbor recently gave me a home gym set that they wanted to get rid of. I had them set it outside on my sidewalk, where it will stay until I can get rid of it. I don't really care to bulk up and become muscle bound. I would prefer to become more lean from running and cardiovascular efforts. I am going to buy a treadmill here soon, going to check craigslist after I get done posting this. I have also already expressed interest in starting the p90x program. With that program, I buy some dumbells, a pullup bar and have all I need for that program.
I had always stayed under 190 until after I turned 21. While my current weight is not uncomfortable, this much bulk is not doing me much good. I need to lose the weight and get into a good routine and diet while I have the mental and physical capacity to start and finish a program. Wii fit is a fun little distraction, but I never did really take it as a serious exercise effort.
In other news, my grad school work is going slower than expected. Whenever I start to do some scholastic reading, my eyes get heavy and I get sleepy. Maybe it is the sudden stop of activity after helping out on the farm today. My literature review that I am near finishing is getting pretty close to done, but will have to be revised. The good thing is that I can turn in a paper until it receives a satisfactory grade. If I don't do well enough the first time, I make some revisions and try again.
I also want to talk about a new goal I started on. I found a bible yesterday while cleaning up some of my brothers things. I never have read the bible all the way through and think I should do that before time gets away from me. The problem I have is that the bible I found was printed in about a 3 font. I have pretty awful eyesight, but I have to take my glasses off to be able to read this bible laying down in bed. I can take my glasses off and not see be able to discern anything on my laptop screen while I sit here and type this. Hopefully I can get to a bookstore soon and find a bible that I can read easily.

Really?
I need to further elaborate on my online dating blog post from before. Lately I have been creeping around on okcupid to much. I am having trouble figuring out why there is so little response from the women on okcupid. I may not have the most visual, financial, or novel appeal that could exist. The problem I am finding is that women sign up on the site, put themselves out there as looking or interested and don't respond at all. I have sent out several short messages and hardly ever get a response. I like to think the messages are clever and not to committing on their end. At this point, I don't think most of them even know how to respond to messages.
Sure, I did see a related report on the morning news once. This expert was on saying that women get overwhelmed with messages when they join such a site. I can see where that may give them a reason to not check messages. I just can't see the point of joining a dating site so you can ignore anything that come your way. What is the point of a novel approach to dating if you don't capitalize at all? I doubt sprucing up my profile would help at all. I don't want to exaggerate so much that I am lying. I think it is pretty straightforward. I rarely have anyone look at my profile from what I can gather on that website. Mabye most of the women join the site so they can take the quizzes and enjoy the personality questions available. I just don't know. It is more likely that if I did know, I wouldn't be creeping around online for dates.
Maybe I need to lower my standards and send everyone a message. I have been excluding women with children for the most part so far. I don't have my filters set very specific. I mainly look at the last time they were on so I know whether or not they are an active person.
For the record, I can't quite figure out women who list themselves as bisexual. That turns me off to them right away. Committ one way or the other ladies.
Super Readers
Allright I have figured out why I have "super readers" as I called them before. Based on my research with mark titus's blog and the sitemeter website, I have come to a conclusion. If a viewer looks at my blog and then goes to another website, the view shows up as zero seconds. If a viewer looks at my blog and then goes to another page on my blog, the timer gives a more accurate reflection of how much time was spent on my blog blogs.
Before I couldn't figure out how I had readers who looked at my blog for zero seconds. Now it makes more sense.
Also, I turned on the wendy williams show this morning and can't figure out whey people will go on there and confess problems about their family and friends when the family and friends will likely watch that show. I doubt I could go on a tv show and not tell people about being on tv without them wanting to watch.

hopefully the only time I don't get a cab.
I have decided to describe the events of the night that I should have gotten a DUI. One day during grad school, a thunderstorm went through columbus and knocked out most of the power around campus. I didn't notice anything until after class because OSU has its own electric system and was still working. I bought some nachos from the mexican place on the way home and ate when I got back. I did take a picture of a telephone pole that fell down right between two cars on norwich. Anyways, when I got back to my house on northwood, our electric was back on and well. Our friend who lived a couple of streets away didn't have any electric so she came over to drink and socialize with me and my two roommates, like what happened any other day of the week anyways. They went and got some food from raising canes, and we stayed at the house and drank some beers.
We eventually decided to go to Nyoh's, our favorite country music bar. Either me or my bearded roommate drove my explorer to Nyohs's. Nyohs's was about a 5 minute drive with all the traffic of columbus. My explorer was a 5 speed so drivers for it were limited. We usually tried to get there before 9 so the cover was cheaper. I think it was a thursday night because the weekend seemed to come right after this night. Anyways, my two roommates got enough to drink and took a cab home earlier. Two of our other friends were going to give me and my lady friend a ride home, but we started drinking liquid dope and told them we would get a cab home at closing time. At any rate, we drank about four pitchers of liquid dope on top of the usual amount of beers before closing time.
This girl could drink with any of the guys, but we were both good and liquored up when the lights came on. I had her purse on my shoulder and closed her tab out while she was talking to some older dudes hanging out at the bar. We finally got outside and were waiting on a cab for about 20 minutes when we decided that walking might be a better idea. We walked for a while before she started falling over a whole bunch. She eventually fell in a park on some grass and passed out. I tried picking her up once or twice but it didn't do any good so layed down beside her the other direction so that our feet were opposite directions. Eventually she woke up and we were talking for a while and laying in the grass still. She also made a move and started to kiss me, which went on for a minute or two. Then she snapped out of it, got up, realized where she was and wanted to keep on moving. So we walked a bit the wrong way, but still were getting closer to our houses. She eventually fell down again somewhere and I laid down also and took a nap. The spot we were in was near a parking garage, and when some cars started coming in, I woke up and decided that we needed to be somewhere else. She was very confused about where we were. I told her which way we needed to go to get back to campus, but she wanted to go back the other way, which would have been towards my car. I decided that maybe we should go back to my car.
I am not sure if I thought I was going to drive home or if we were going to get some sleep in the car until daylight. At any rate we walked back to my car. She got entertained by jumping in puddles and talking about tennessee, where she was from. I eventually decided that I could drive home and made it back to her place without to any traffic, or red lights, or police surveillance. I drove with the windows down and stayed in low gear the entire way. I drove on the main highways as much as I could have. I got to her place and got her to her door when we had some more problems. We managed to lose her phone, house keys and camera somewhere along the way. She pounded on her neighbors door who had a spare set of keys for her place and got her in and went back to my car. I probably should have left my car there, but got back in and drove back to my place a couple of blocks away. By the time I got back home, it was after 4:30 am.
I woke back up at 10:30, told my roommate I drove home last night and left to try and see if I could find some of the things we lost of hers in that park. On my way out of the alley, I caught up with her steaming mad, wearing the same clothes and wondering what the hell happened the night before. I told her everything except about us making out. This pacified her a bit. We drove to the park and walked around for a while, hitting the spots I remembered passing out at. We didn't find any of her stuff, but she did talk to the park management and got it all back a couple days later. I did find her credit card in my pocket after I got back to my house and checked my pockets.
That day my other roommate and I went to the videogame store and I bought a copy of the 40 year old virgin. He bought a ds lite, and the new super mario brothers game. We went back to the house, drank a case of beer, watched the 40 year old virgin, and then our lady friend had her girlfriend call us to invite us over for some drinks before going out for some more drinks. I had told him what happened and he convinced me not to tell her about the making out part. Luckily for me, she is one of those girls who claims not to remember anything after drinking to much. This is also a girl who got kicked out of a bar an hour and a half after its grand opening for dancing on the bar and flipping of the bartender. I eventually also told my bearded roommate and he convinced me that not saying anything would be better for all involved. It turned out well, she had a boyfriend at the time who was working in florida while she went to grad school. I went to their wedding last summer and all seems well.
In retrospect, I am very lucky I did not crash my car into someone or something. Getting a DUI is not a good move for an aspiring teacher. I felt that I should have told her more, but my two roommates were going to grad school with her and we decided that it would not be a good idea. I had been broken up with my last girlfriend about a month or two at the time. They sometimes made jokes about it when she wasn't around and it would confuse our other group of lady friends who didn't have very many details. About two months later I moved out and started teaching at my alma matter high school.
KIds Cartoons
I have to much fun watching kids cartoons. Arthur, on PBS may be the worst example, but some funny things have happened on that show. Some of the saturday morning cartoons are good, but I don't get out of bed in time to watch those enough. I used to be a big ninja turtles fan when I was in elementary school, and will still watch them if I catch them on tv. I would watch naruto if I had cable tv, even though that may be a action show. I used to watch dragonball Z, but that is off the air now. Word Girl on PBS is good also, but that fetch of talking dog scavenger hunt show is nearly unwatchable.
I also have begun to like tyler perry's house of payne more. When I first saw it on tv, I would pay no attention to it, but I have begun to watch more and laugh more. I still can't get into the cosby show which is on before house of payne. The cosby show moves along so slowly with its jokes that I get disinterested to fast.

PHS
I got a call from an acquaintance today about subbing for her while she is on maternity leave. She says she is due in august, and may teach the first two weeks of school if she is able. She may have me sub for the remainder of the first 9 weeks while she is on leave. This should be pretty cool, I would have three different subjects to teach, and only sophomores and freshman. Adams counties schools are a bit weird in that they only have ag science 1 and 2. If you want to continue your ag expertise at the high school level, you have to go to their career technical center. Peebles may be a bit of a drive for me from Mowrystown, but that just means I get more time to listen to the satellite radio everyday.
I also got a job lead about being a technology teacher at southern hills career technical center. I am not certified for that job, but a desperate school can hire whomever they want for a year. I need to talk to principal Chadwell about his expectations and willingness to take on an ag ed guy for a technology class. I wonder how finding work at other schools will affect my fratenizibility, and if fratenizibility is correct english.
In other news, me and dad are going to get reamed by the county for him selling me the house he bought. Since rules are complicated, we have to get all new inspections on the property and house before an approval can be made to the bank. There goes another grand that I have to spend. The only way we could have avoided this is if the auctioneers weren't a bunch of shady people who dealt with money hungry people who didn't think 300,000 wasn't enough for their dads property an hour away from where they lived. It is kind of funny, the daughter and husband who bought the lake and woods, actually lost money on the auction. With all the money they spent on advertising, they had to have lost money. I don't know how much they inherited from Larry, but a chunk of it went away when the DePughs bought the lake and woods at the auction. The Dottroff's likely came out ahead, since they didn't spend any money beyond the auctioneers fee and advertising.

YES man
I recently seen the movie "yes man" and thought it was pretty good. The old lady fellatio scene may have been the funniest part to me. I do have to wonder if I am enough of a yes man. I don't say no to very many things. I take everything that my mom doesn't want in her house anymore. I always answer my phone when I know my dad and grandpa are calling for help. I helped my sister move a bunch of furniture at least three times in the last year. I say yes to calls about subbing before I know who I am going in for. I let my ex-girlfriend come over and watch big brother three times a week. I usually sit in the chair and make her sit by herself, but thats still a yes. I help my brother with his auto body shop when he asks. I help the amigos when they ask a favor. I don't get into many conflicting viewpoint situations. Saying yes usually furthers the conversation and is less debate on my end.
The only thing I say no to is dating my ex-girlfriend. I have been saying no to drinking about 95% of the time now. I am going to have to say no to working in tobacco for about four hours everyday. I need that time to do graduate school work, and blog also. I have said no to some friends and their endless parade of activity of facebook. Some people are hidden from my view.
It would seem that my mom and dad are worried about me getting lost. They bought me some Garmin GPS thing for my birthday, which I doubt I will ever use. I have had the opinion that cities want you to get places, so that you can spend your money at your destination. If you can't get there because there are not enough directional signs and instructions up, the business won't make as much money.

Farmers Tan
I have got my farmers tan back in the last couple of days. The sun has come back out and I have been outside getting tan again. I was almost pale for a while, with all the rain and the staying indoors. One day I wore a sleeveless shirt, the next day I wore an A-shirt. I think they are called A-shirts, some call them wife beaters. I have a good stock of A-shirts, I wear them under dress shirts almost all the time.
In other news, my birthday is tommorow. For some reason the ex girlfriend has decided to take the day off and seems a little too excited. Last year I went camping during my birthday weekend, but that is practically ruined for me now. My dad gave me a big list of things I had to get together. After I spent half a day running around getting that stuff together, he still found some farm chores that needed done. Then when I just wanted to sit around the campfire and drink some beers, the girlfriend found occasion to get angry and stay angry the rest of the weekend.
I updated my safari browser and now my top sites open up when I open a new tab. It is pretty cool so far, but I have to be careful that this blog stays off of my top sites and remains a unknown for as long as I want. I have googled my name and images enough to be certain that nothing I don't want out there is out there. I have done the same for other online profiles that I have. While sirwalter was apparently some english aristocrat tobacco czar, my message board identity is relatively undocumented.

not a FUNeral
I am a bit uneasy at funerals. I don't feel entirely comfortable talking to people who just had someone they were close to taken away from them. Standing in line and going to see a body is not the easiest thing to do. I don't know what to do when I get to the body. Saying something to the family is hard to do. Etiquette dictates that something should be said, but I think that what I have to say can't help that much. The hardest part may be hanging around until everyone decides its time to go. How long should someone stay after they have been through the main event? Are people offended if you leave to soon? Can you say that funerals make you uncomfortable or uneasy and book it as soon as you can? Does having a large turnout really help the immediate family or grievers? I have a hard time speaking socially anyways. I can't hardly talk to anyone at a funeral. I usually just sit with my family and stare at the wall or something.
They say that bad luck comes in threes. Since tuesday we have had two deaths in the extended Hauke family. I hope the third death does not happen, but when it is your time, there isn't much that can be done.

family ties
Because of a recent death in the extended family, I have had the chance to further explore how all the Hauke's of the area are related. I am mainly writing this down so that I can reference this later when I have a question.
Charles would be my great great grandfather. He had five kids.
Betty was the youngest and only daughter. She lives in Florida now, as does most of her progeny.
Elmer was the oldest boy and nothing was known of him by my grandparents.
Carl had Jim, Tom, Evelyn, and Kate. Tom had Kevin, and another daughter and son. I can't remember their names at the moment. Jim had a daughter who married a Mallott, which is how the Mallott's are related to us.
Harold had Charlie, Vick, Betty, Donnie, and Carolyn. Charlie married Mary Ruth and had Chris and Janey, who had Chad, Charlie, and Jackie.
Rolland, my great-grandfather, had Richard, Gerald, Jenny, and Mary Lou. Richard had Kenny and Barb. Gerald had Doug, Jamie, and Randall. Jenny had Kip, and adopted Ronnie. Mary Lou had Tim, but maybe had others that I can't recall at this time.
I had never quite figured out how Chris and Jim and Tom and them were related to me. This helped today, and I am sure that I will hear more about it this saturday at the funeral of Chris's mom.
In other news, my house is a bit of a habitat for wildlife. I have seen a snake that is contemplating a retreat to the outside. He is sticking his head out from under the siding at the back of my house and not going any further. I once found a snake skin in some work shirts that had fallen on the ground on my basement stairs. It was a kind of big snake skin, and the part of the snake I can see looks pretty big. I also had a bat flying around my room last night when I wanted to go to bed. I "batted" the bat down with a t-shirt, caught it, and then threw it outside a window. Hopefully I can either not find any more critters, or they all leave the house.
My secret wish
I watched "Repo! The Genetic Opera" last night and I really liked it. Telling the story through song was pretty cool, like how things were done before the written word. The plot was pretty decent, the acting wasn't to awful, and the lighting was predictably dark. It seems like in everything I watch, people use the lowest rated bulbs and never turn the lights on. The songs were pretty cool, but it was hard to tell when singing or dialogue was being done. Some of the lines were just spoken, so it was a bit confusing.
My secret wish is that the vampire musical from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is one day made available and public for my entertainment.
My uncle came yesterday and worked over the wiring in my house big time. I now have working sockets and switches upstairs. He also fixed my bathroom lights, I can now turn on the lights without going into the far corner and flipping the switch. He also fixed the sink so that I don't have to screw in the bulbs over the sink to have a light. Now I just have to figure out my budget and what to do next. I will hopefully get a furnace that can keep my house warm, I hate setting around in sweaters and hooded sweatshirts during the winter. I also need to get rid of all the old magazines upstairs soon also.

rhythm heaven
I have two rhythm based games that I play on on ds. The first game is elite beat agents, where you tap the targets on the screen in rhythm to make FBI like agents dance to save or motivate people in some scenario. This game is fun because it has mainstream songs on it that I have heard before and is challenging. The second game is rhythm heaven, which is a bit different. Rhythm Heaven has japanese made songs and tunes, but have been translated over to english. You touch the screen based on the beat or action that needs to be done. My favorite one to play is the ping pong one, with the easter island statue stage being the one I am the worst at. I am stuck at the monk level now where you make the monk toss egg rolls into his mouth. I usually play my ds to settle down before I go to sleep. Most times I play for so long that my arms start to get numb and I need to quit.
Also, I need to celebrate the readers of my blog. I now have over 50 page views, but am far from as popular as the clubtrillion blog of Mark Titus. Thank you readers. I have had viewership from as far away as brazil, when someone googled an exchange students name, to mainly local viewership in fairfield and martinsville ohio. I also have super viewers who view my blog for 1 second and that is enough time to digest all the information before them. Now I have to stay motivated and interesting enough to get 100 pages views and beyond. To find where you stand on my viewer list, click the sitemeter link at the bottom of the page.
Also yes, my skill set is limited in some senses, but I know how to do boy things. I can change the oil in cars and drive tractors just about anywhere at most speeds. Giving things the old "college try" was usually good enough. I had two brothers and two sisters growing up competing for attention. They were all younger and I didn't really need to learn how to iron when all my shirts were covered in hay chaff or tobacco gunk by noon everyday of the summer.

cowboy pants.
Today I tried on a pair of my old wranglers, and they fit well enough. I have a a bit of a "muffin top," going on, but still need to lose some more weight I guess. Even though I have lost about 13 pounds since january, another 10 would get me comfortably under 200 pounds.
The rain we are getting today is not going to be good for farming. In the past two or three years, things have been unusually dry. This year we are getting wetter and wetter. While a fine balance towards dry would be preferred, this much rain is going to drown out some of our crops and may kill them. This lightning and thunder we are getting today is making my house shake a little bit.
I bought an ironing board today. This year when I sub teach, I will have freshly ironed clothes. Next I only need to learn how to iron. I will be going to youtube and watching all kinds of videos to get some good techniques.
Does having a subscription to nintendo power make me a nerd or geek of some sort? I read news on the internet everyday, but like having that come in the mail to read. I also get discover magazine, which has science articles to read.

6 months to get it done
Well, I now have six months to complete my grad school work. Sure, I could take longer, but I paid my tuition today and am good for the next six months. If I have more work to do after that six months, I have to pay out of my pocket again.
I do like the convenience of online schooling, but have to wonder if I should have pursued another school. My problem is that I want to become certified to teach physical sciences and most likely don't have enough of those credits from Ohio State. If I had went to some nearby school for graduate work, I would have to drive a couple of days a week and complete all my work. This would be on top of my farming obligations that grandpa and dad try their hardest to keep me available for. The new school would also want me to take more science courses, or change to life sciences or something of that nature.
At any rate, I have to buckle up and get to studying at least 4 hours per day. I need to have my prospectus done by october so I can be in a classroom by november. The most immediate item to complete are the literature reviews of PBL articles that I have read. I then have to complete a timeline and some other forms to make progress.
I don't know if the masters requirement for teachers is worthwhile. On the teachers end, you make a bigger salary if you have that degree. It can hinder you from a job, some school districts will hire a cheaper candidate if all other considerations are equal. I am beginning to think that states should be like florida and hire any person with a four year degree who has a desire to teach. Any person who stays in a subject area long enough will become a good teacher in that area. As long as they have a desire to succeed and do what it good for the students, results should happen. Sure some teachers get to the point where they are just waiting to retire and are phoning it in, but a principals job is to make sure teachers are doing their jobs, not be friends with underperforming comrades.
With all the stories about inappropriate conduct with minors in the news, are schools always making the right hire? It is hard to know that a person will always show restraint and do the right thing. Administration probably does take factors other than qualifications into consideration.
Also, I just ordered two kings of leon concert tickets for saturday october 10th at rupp arena. I might have ordered four tickets, but doubt I have three other friends that want to go. I asked my brother in law and sister if they were fans and didn't get much of a response. I am looking forward to going to a concert of a new band. Hopefully it will be a bit of a rainy day and I can get away from farm activities without to much complaining from my dad and grandpa.

el llegado
Our crew of mexicans arrived last night while I was at the reds game. This year we got four "amigos," as I like to call them. Three of them we have had for the last two years, and the fourth is the youngest guys dad. Tomas, Abraham, and Reyes have been here before, and Reyes's dad Elstackio, is here for the first time. I think it Elstackio's his first time in the United States.
We have been getting amigo help since I was a sophomore in high school. That year I got really good at the spanish language and was a bit angry that I didn't win spanish II student of the year. I am still the most fluent spanish speaker in the family, even though my dad and grandpa have invented their own words. All of my friends in college were surprised that I could speak spanish. The first year or two, we just had two guys come. Juvencio was one of them, he had been coming or staying every year until this new crew came in two years ago. The most help we ever had was five amigos, but one of them was a woman and a dedicated tractor driver.
We got the help when we started growing more tobacco. Raising tobacco is very labor intensive, especially when it comes time to harvest. We got to the point where we couldn't depend on local labor anymore. Locals want to quit at 5 so they can go get drunk. Locals have family obligations they need to attend to. Locals want paid everyday, and will generally come back when they need some more beer money. Locals will say they are coming the next day and not show up. Locals could set your barn of fire if you don't pay them when they think they should be paid.
Amigos are here to make money. They don't have to quit at five to go home. They understand we pay them on saturday or sunday, not at the end of everyday. Amigos stay at our farm and wait on us to tell them when we are working. Amigos work as many hours as you can give them. Amigos are more reliable and don't complain about making low wages. We pay our guys a reasonable rate, more than we paid when I was a high schooler. When I was helping back then, dad paid us about $5 an hour and 10 cents a stick to cut. Currently we pay $8 an hour and 12 cents a stick. On a good day we can work 10 hours or they could cut all day and make a hundred dollars pretty easy.
We have encountered some anti amigo biases. Most of the local help we used to hire decided they didn't want to work with amigos and found other work. Currently we work more within the law, going through the governments h2a program to get legal help for a requested period of time. Until then however, we had people that crossed the border and took a real serious risk to get here. However, in mexico nothing is really worth staying around for. Beyond staying and helping your family, there is very few jobs and very little money to earn. Coming here to make life better for you family is not a very tough decision for most mexicano's.
After the first year of amigo help, I was able to do more school activities. Before then, I always had to rush home to help after school. I found that I would get to the field and they would be nearly finished for the day. I decided if my help wasn't that necessary, I was going to run cross country next year, and I did. It turned out that I loved running even more than playing basketball. While my time wasn't especially fast for CC (19:27 PR), I was able to make the top 7 my senior year and run the varsity races. I even finished 2nd on the team during our league meet my senior year. I was one spot away from making all league in CC. I enjoyed running more than playing basketball because in running, you don't have teammates to depend on. If I wasn't very good, I still got to run a full race, just as a jv runner in a separate race. I started doing 200 situps everynight back then at the advice of one of my relatives. Even though I still ate like it was my last meal, I stayed in the 185 pounds range back then. I also got to run with two other pretty cool seniors, one set the school record at 15:45 and finished 3rd in state our senior year. Our coach was also pretty cool, Mr. Bogart would take us to lake waynoka sometimes to run. He even found a way for us to go swimming and workout in the pool at the lake sometimes. One day at practice it was raining, so we stayed inside and played freeze tag. I was chasing him, and he tried to fake right and keep going on straight. I didn't take the fake at all and ran right into and over him. It was pretty funny now, but he acted pretty sore at the time.
Denouement
The part of the movie where all the loose ends are tied up, questions are answered, and the issues are resolved is the denouement. I like blogging so far. This clerks exercise gave me the chance to learn some new vocabulary and talk about some fun things. I don't know if I have any more big revelations for my blogging world. Getting on here and getting some thoughts and ideas about what is happening in my life is the best part about blogging. I don't have to try to be novel. or provocative.
My house has quite the new look since I got my new bedroom done. I moved my oldest couch in my old bedroom, as well as the armoire. I laid down some of the leftover carpet in the old bedroom so I don't splinter up my feet on the old floor. My dining room looks pretty empty now. I now have someplace to keep my shoe collection that was just about everywhere. I think I may have too many pairs of shoes for an honest man.
Last nights reds game got off to a good start, with the reds leading 2-0 after two innings. However, the rockies closed out the game scoring 5 unanswered runs for a 5-2 win.

Catharsis
A catharsis is an event or sensation of spiritual cleansing, brought on by a powerful emotional experience. I am really starting to enjoy going to church and becoming more committed to my faith. The lamentation post may have been a bit of a downer, but church activities are making me happy. I like being part of a community and having a leader or someone who I can look up to. The time it allows for me to think quietly and hear about God is doing me lots of good. I still need to learn to pray better and more regularly. I need to take the time to read through the entire bible for the first time, but have plenty of time to do that.
I used to regularly attend church services when I was in high school. As I became more of a drunk throughout college, I didn't attend at all. I can think of one occasion where I went to church services in Columbus. I probably did go sometimes during the summers at home, but can't recall any such times.
The more I listen to my silversun pickups CD, the more I want to go to see them play. I really need to go just to see if their lead singer really does sound like a woman. Substitution my be my favorite song off of their swoon album.
