Joshua

I finished reading the Joshua book in my Bible last night. I had never given much thought as to who succeeded Moses, and now I know. God was still very willing to smite as many non-Lord people as possible. Lastly, I still had no idea that there were so many established towns and orders. Were there really that many kings, or were they more like mayors of a town? How were that many people able to sustain themselves before modern agriculture and knowledge of food safety? Animals require about 6 pounds of feed for every one pound of body weight, how were the animals getting enough to make do?

In other news, jury duty is happening soon. My dad and grandpa are very aggravated at my civic mindedness, but mainly because they have to work harder in my absence. They don't realize that they have a crew of amigos that they can sit back and watch work if they don't want to work very hard. However, there is going to be a time when I have to commit to either farming or teaching. It may be after this season. If I can find another 6 acres of  tobacco ground and barns, and about another 50 acres of ground for soybeans, I think I could give up on teaching as a part timer.
