Leviticus

Well, I finished another book of the Bible last night. Leviticus might as well have been called "Rules." One of the things I have noticed so far in my reading is that most of the scriptures apply to men. The word she is not used very often. Women do come up as topics every so often, but most of the time he is used to demonstrate a person. I also decided that nothing got done besides burning animals up to make sacrifices. Everything that was herded together must have been pretty nervous every time a person came by. The only was to be safe from becoming a sacrifice was to have a deformity, God didn't want your reject livestock. I also have to wonder about all the ideals set forth in Leviticus. I can't help but notice that many animals aren't burned at alters in todays christianity. We also eat a wide variety of animals, split hoof, cud chewing or not.

  1. That's because animal sacrifices are not a Christian ritual, since Christianity was not around then. Jews have different rituals than we do. There's a lot of history behind Leviticus. There are good study guides for each book online. I looked over a 20 page overview of Job one time and it was pretty interesting. I am sure you can find one on Leviticus.
