A catharsis is an event or sensation of spiritual cleansing, brought on by a powerful emotional experience. I am really starting to enjoy going to church and becoming more committed to my faith. The lamentation post may have been a bit of a downer, but church activities are making me happy. I like being part of a community and having a leader or someone who I can look up to. The time it allows for me to think quietly and hear about God is doing me lots of good. I still need to learn to pray better and more regularly. I need to take the time to read through the entire bible for the first time, but have plenty of time to do that.
I used to regularly attend church services when I was in high school. As I became more of a drunk throughout college, I didn't attend at all. I can think of one occasion where I went to church services in Columbus. I probably did go sometimes during the summers at home, but can't recall any such times.
The more I listen to my silversun pickups CD, the more I want to go to see them play. I really need to go just to see if their lead singer really does sound like a woman. Substitution my be my favorite song off of their swoon album.
