I finally got around to reading and finishing another book in the Bible. Jeremiah is about the last and longest book that was left for me to read. I found a website that lists all the Bible books by the order of appearance and lets you go directly to each book and verse you want to go to. It is pretty convenient, and I don't think my bible gateway site will be blocked by any school filters I go to. I also read Jeremiah exclusively online, and am not sure that I liked reading the Bible that way. There is something to be said or had in reading a printed version of something, especially the Bible.
I did have a couple of thoughts about Jeremiah. For one, I thought the books of the were in some sequential order. I thought the nebuchadnezzer character was long and done with, but sure enough, he showed up again, presumbably doing the same thing he was doing the first time I read about him. It is a bit confusing to read things when they seem out of order. However, after I typed that I decided that the order of the books is likely very deliberate and I should take it as is. On a side note, he is one of the characters I remember because that is the name of the ship that neo is part of in the matrix trilology. Maybe I should start paying more attention to the Bible and less to movies. I also thought God spent to much time telling what he was going to do and not enough time doing it. I can understand wanting to preach and give some warning to your people, but constantly telling your citizenry that they will be destroyed seemed a little redundant to me. I would tell them once and let them stew about it then let it happen. I know God has his reasons, and what I read is rewritten from a source. I also have to wonder If I am doing the things to keep God enough on my side. There are several sins that I have never committed and I haven't committed any intentional sins since my last confession and forgiveness of sins at mass.
