farming

Today was a busy day of farming. I have been out of the house since about 7:30, and got in at about 9:00. I would have been out later but an exploded tire on the back of our bean drill  forced me to quit early.

At any rate, by tomorrow I will have all of my tobacco set and all of my beans drilled. I need to make sure I call my insurance salesman and let him know how many acres I have out. I would hate to miss out on another fat crop insurance check because I didn't report everything correctly.

I was thinking about doing a photo project where I take a picture out of my back window everyday. By doing so I could watch how a crop develops day after day and eventually post that on this blog or elsewhere. I think it would be neat to see and be able to show some friends who have no idea how things grow that way.

Overall, I did get along pretty well today with my dad and grandpa. I have learned to do as they ask by promptly agreeing with them, which helps some. Dad wasn't even to mad when I told him about the popped tire that caused me to have an early day.
